Van scammers often attend campus and approach students indicating they are selling expensive high-end equipment because they have too much inventory or have extra units from a recent job and that they need to get rid of quickly. In an attempt to mislead the buyer, the equipment’s brand name is often similar to well-known manufacturers.
Laptops and knapsacks that are left unattended can be a quick target of choice for a thief. Thefts such as this have occurred across campus and in shared spaces.When you walk away from your property and leave it unattended you may be leaving yourself open to a theft. With colder temperatures on the horizon, drivers should switch their tires if they are able. Remember to adjust your speed to the road conditions, allow extra time for every trip, and plan your route before leaving.
